Do's and Don'ts
General information
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Yes, wearing a helmet is mandatory for all riders.
Are there any age restrictions for renting an e-mountain bike?
Riders must be at least 16 years old to rent and ride our e-mountain bikes.
What should I bring with me for the ride?
We recommend bringing water, snacks, a charged mobile phone, appropriate clothing, and a sense of adventure!
How can I navigate the trails?
You can navigate the forest using the Trail Forks app. This app provides detailed maps, trail conditions, and navigation features to help you explore the trails safely and efficiently. Make sure to download the app and the trail maps before your ride for offline access.
Are kids allowed to rent bikes at Trail Hub?
Currently, we do not rent bikes to kids under the age of 16. However, kids are welcome to bring their own bikes and ride with renters. They will need a trail pass and adequate equipment, including a helmet.
What are the rental options and pricing?
Full Day E-Bike Rental (8 hours): $120.00 CAD + HST
Helmet Rental: $10.00 CAD + HST
Is there a cancellation fee on bike rentals?
Yes. There is a $50 cancellation and restocking fee.
What type of e-mountain bikes do you offer?
We offer state-of-the-art GasGas G Enduro 3.0 bikes equipped with the latest PW-X3 motor by Yamaha, providing 85 Nm of torque and a 720 Wh Simplo battery.
How do I book an e-mountain bike rental?
You can reserve your e-mountain bike online through our website.
What if I encounter an issue with the bike during my ride?
If you experience any issues with the bike, please call us immediately for assistance.
What is the check-in and check-out process for bike rentals?
Our staff member on-site will guide you through the check-in and check-out process to ensure you fully understand shifting gears, brakes, tire pressure, suspension, and that the bike is set up for your rider weight and ability level.
What happens if I'm late returning the bike?
We offer a 15-minute grace period for late returns. If you exceed this grace period, additional charges may apply. No-shows on reservations will be charged a restocking fee of $25.
Can I transport the e-bike on my vehicle?
No, e-bikes cannot be transported on vehicles. They must be ridden from the Trail Hub trailhead and must not leave the Durham Forest region, which includes Walker Woods, Glen Major, and Duffins Headwaters.

Can I bring my own bike to ride on your trails?
Yes, you're welcome to bring your own bike.
We encourage all riders to arrive with a fully functioning, mechanically sound mountain bike suitable for our trails. Please note that all trails on the Trail Hub property are pay-to-play, and a signed waiver along with proof of day pass are required.
What is an e-mountain bike?
An e-mountain bike is a mountain bike equipped with an electric motor to assist with pedaling, making it easier to tackle technical trails and long rides.

Can I bring my own food?
No outside food or drinks are allowed. No tailgating or eating in the parking lot.
